The festival
A film festival dedicated to football, in Medellín. One condition unites the programme: football has to be there, as the core, as the trigger or as the context.

Classic MatchdayIf your film is selected
Stated up front, before you submit.
- Two screenings in Medellín, and a third if demand calls for it.
- No DCP required. Films are screened from a high-quality digital file, delivered by 15 February 2027.
- Cash awards of USD 2,000 and USD 1,000, paid to the rights holder.
- You supply the Spanish subtitles. If your film is not in Spanish, you provide the subtitle file with the screening copy, at your own cost.
- The rights remain yours. The festival does not distribute, sell or license your film to third parties.
- Travel and accommodation, subject to funding. Some of the selected filmmakers are invited, confirmed case by case with the results. Everyone selected receives an early invitation letter, which is what mobility funds ask for.
Audience and screening fees
Most screenings are free, with talks alongside them.
This edition pays no screening fee to rights holders for exhibiting the selected films. The cash awards are separate from this.
How to submit
- Read the rules. What is eligible, the deadlines, and the commitments you take on if your film is selected.
- Prepare your subtitles. If the film is not in Spanish, submit it with Spanish or English subtitles.
- Submit through Festhome. It is the only way in. The festival charges no entry fee; Festhome charges its own platform fee.

Where
Medellín
Where football and cinema share an audience.
- Going to the cinema is Medellín's number-one cultural activity.
- And no city in Colombia takes more people to a football ground.
- The meeting point has an audience.
Colombo Americano
Sede Centro
Two art-house screens in the city centre, programming year-round, with seasons and festivals. Home of the film magazine Kinetoscopio.
Cineprox
Las Américas
The only one of the chain's seven venues given over to art-house cinema. It opened in 1993 and was refurbished throughout in 2024; its screen recalls the art deco picture houses.
MAMM
Ciudad del Río
The museum theatre, seating 256. A room built for cinema, dance and concerts, inside the city's museum of modern art.
Questions
How recent must the film be?
Completed on or after 1 January 2024.
Does the running time include credits?
Yes. The full running time counts: up to 39 minutes and 59 seconds is Toque Corto, and from 40 minutes, Largo Aliento.
Do you require a premiere?
No. A film may already have premiered or screened at other festivals or in cinemas.
Which countries do you accept?
All of them. Latin American cinema has no separate section: it competes on equal terms, and the programming team actively seeks it out.
What about subtitles?
To submit: Spanish or English subtitles, burned in or as a separate file. Without them the committee cannot judge your film on the same footing as the rest. If selected, it screens with Spanish subtitles, which the rights holder supplies with the screening copy.
Is artificial intelligence allowed?
Yes. Please declare any use of AI on the entry form. It will not count against your film.
Are screenings ticketed?
At the MAMM, yes. The other two venues will be confirmed with the programme.
